Time to Shift into the New Era of the 4th Industrial Revolution – Digital Evolution

Most of today’s organizations are still built on the industrial age structure. This linear, hierarchical, top down approach fitted well for mass production, repetitive  output of  factories. Where scale was due to adding resources in a linear manner. However, in our new World, growth has become exponential due to the use of technology. Allowing new, very quickly emerging company forms to take shape and domineer almost over night the market: using very little in terms of resources used by the traditional organizations.
It leaves “traditional”organizations in the dust. And if they are not careful, very soon obsolete.

  • The average half life of a business competency has dropped from 30 years in 1984 to 5 years in 2014
  • 89% of the Fortune 500 companies from 1955 are not on the list in 2014
  • In the next 10 years 40% of all S&P 500 companies will disappear from this list
