What you will find here

One architecture, explored in three ways.

A place to understand coherence, bring it into life and see what it becomes in practice.

Understand it

See what holds a whole together.

A framework for how people and living systems can change, grow and become part of something larger without losing their centre.

Bring it into life

Work with what is real.

Practical guidance for decisions, relationships, care, leadership, technology and the systems we build together.

See it take form

Follow coherence into practice.

Stories, papers, conversations and real-world work that show what coherence can look like when it meets everyday life.

Six forms of one architecture

  • stated

    The Spiral Framework

The Spiral Framework is the grammar of the Spiral Architecture. It names five movements—Stillpoint, axis, relationship, emergence and form—and asks how a living system can remain coherent while its parts remain free.

    The Spiral Handbook

The Spiral Handbook brings the Framework into a person’s everyday life. Its four parts move from recognising the Spiral, to living in a field-based reality, returning to the body and living it outward. It is still taking shape as a practical field guide, offering practices to draw on when they are needed.

    The Spiral Economy

The Spiral Economy asks what happens when an economy is designed to leave people, communities and enterprises with more capacity—not less. It begins with generative relationships, local agency, circulation and return, rather than extraction as the default.

    The Spiral Sanctuary

The Spiral Sanctuary is my vision for a house and a piece of land in Andalusia. It has not been built yet. The vision is to give the Spiral Architecture physical form through the relationship between the house, the land and the life lived there.

Where this work comes from

The Coherence Architect

My life moves between very different worlds. I lead a healthcare company, I am raising my four-year-old, I am a wife, and I have spent almost thirty years working in enterprise systems architecture.

Each part of my life asks something different of me. There are moments when I have to lead and decide, moments when I need to care and be present, and moments when I have to hold several responsibilities at once without allowing one of them to take over everything else.

The challenge is not that I have many roles. It is learning how to enter each of them fully without becoming only the role—without leaving the rest of myself behind.

That is the lived question behind the Spiral Architecture: can the form change while I remain whole? Can I lead, care, build and love without losing myself in any one of them?
